There are illustrations at various points in the book. There is no epilogue or prologue.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPlot Structure: The first few chapters set up the background of mystery, family relatives and their personalities and situations. Two children live with their aunt and uncle and help solve a mystery within their family. Remaining chapters follow a poem, bit by bit, clue by clue, to find gems and missing relatives. Most of the book (beyond chapter 3) is deciphering this clue ridden poem and searching for answers. Almost every chapter ends with one step closer but no answer.
