\nMy SSR book:
\n
\nTitle: The Diamond in the Window
\nAuthor: Jane Langton
\n
\nPhysical Structure: Chapters are numbered and named. For instance, chapter 5 is entitled \u201cThe Search Begins.\u201d Illustrations, table of contents, and part of a poem are in the front of the book. There are illustrations at various points in the book. There is no epilogue or prologue.
\n
\nPlot Structure: The first few chapters set up the background of mystery, family relatives and their personalities and situations. Two children live with their aunt and uncle and help solve a mystery within their family. Remaining chapters follow a poem, bit by bit, clue by clue, to find gems and missing relatives. Most of the book (beyond chapter 3) is deciphering this clue ridden poem and searching for answers. Almost every chapter ends with one step closer but no answer. The last few chapters contain the answers.
\nClimax of the book: when one major physical item is found that leads to more answers","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"37108950","dateCreated":"1301971145","smartDate":"Apr 4, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"gfoley2","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/gfoley2","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1299273224\/gfoley2-lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/lit19foley.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/37108950"},"dateDigested":1532145336,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Structure of the Novel","description":"Your novel has a particular structure that is very different than the other novels. It doesn't make sense to me because it wasn't that much of a turning point then most of the time. But the Plot structure is. In the beginning the author discribed the characters the setting and most importantly, the crash. Then the two teenagers find themselves crashed on the interstate in a blizzard with hurt parents. From there on they are trying to find a way to save their parents and climb to the top of the mountain. The teenagers get tired and often had arguments during their journey up the mountain. I think the climax of the book is in the beginning when they crashed because it was a large turning point in the story. At the end they find a solution.","dateCreated":"1303862207","smartDate":"Apr 26, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"Harperpie","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Harperpie","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1271208480\/Harperpie-lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]},{"id":"36733558","dateCreated":"1301410459","smartDate":"Mar 29, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"gfoley2","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/gfoley2","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1299273224\/gfoley2-lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/lit19foley.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/36733558"},"dateDigested":1532145337,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Characters?","description":"How do the main characters handle these obstacles?
